As of February 23, 2026, masks are now optional in most patient care areas including the Toronto Western Family Health Team Clinic, and common spaces such as waiting rooms, hallways, and elevators.
Masking is optional:
When providing direct patient care or interacting directly with patients
In waiting rooms, hallways, and public/ common spaces
Patients or staff are required to wear a mask if:

Self-screen for symptoms of illness before coming to the TW FHT.
If you are a patient, let your care team know if you have new or worsening symptoms of an illness ahead of time by phone if possible, or when you arrive.
If you are a family member or caregiver, stay home if you are feeling unwell or have a known infection.
